SEO Onboarding Tutorial: Connecting Google + Facebook to Your SEO Dashboard

Thank you for choosing Apex Media Solutions to improve your local search visibility. This tutorial will guide you through connecting your Google Business Profile and Facebook Business Page to your SEO Dashboard, which is a critical step in maximizing your online presence.


Why Do We Need to Connect These Accounts?

Your SEO Dashboard is a powerful platform that manages your business information across 70+ premium online directories. By connecting your Google Business Profile and Facebook Business Page, we can:

  • Ensure your business name, address, and phone number (NAP) are consistent everywhere
  • Sync updates automatically across all platforms
  • Improve your local search rankings by eliminating conflicting information
  • Monitor your visibility score and track improvements over time

When search engines like Google see consistent information across multiple trusted sources, they become more confident in displaying your business to potential customers.


Before You Begin

To complete this setup, you will need:
  • Access to the email address associated with your Google Business Profile
  • Your Google Business Profile login credentials
  • Access to your Facebook account that manages your Business Page
  • Approximately 15-20 minutes

Note: If you do not have a Google Business Profile or Facebook Business Page yet, your onboarding specialist will help you create them during your appointment.

Part 1: Connecting Your Google Business Profile

During your onboarding appointment, your specialist will guide you through connecting your Google Business Profile. Here is what to expect:

Option A: Connect During the Onboarding Call

Your specialist will walk you through the connection process in real-time:

Step 1: Receive the Connection Prompt

Your specialist will navigate to your business listing in our system and initiate the Google connection process.

Step 2: Sign Into Your Google Account

You will be prompted to sign into the Google account that has ownership or management access to your Google Business Profile.

Important: Make sure you use the correct Google account. If you manage multiple Google accounts, select the one specifically tied to your business listing.

Step 3: Grant Permission

Google will ask you to grant permission for our platform to manage your listing information. This allows us to:

  • Update your business details across directories

  • Keep your information synchronized

  • Monitor your listing health

Step 4: Select Your Business Location

If you have multiple locations under your Google account, select the specific location you are onboarding with Apex Media Solutions.

Step 5: Confirm the Connection

Once connected, you will see a confirmation message. Your Google Business Profile is now linked to your SEO Dashboard.


If you prefer to connect your Google Business Profile on your own time, or if you were unable to complete the connection during your onboarding call, your specialist can generate a secure connection link and email it to you.



  1. Check your email for the Google connection link from Apex Media Solutions

  2. Click the link (it will open in a new browser window)

  3. Sign into the Google account that manages your business listing

  4. Select your business location from the list if prompted

  5. Review and approve the permissions requested

  6. Close the window once you see the success confirmation

Tip: Complete the Google connection within 24-48 hours of receiving the link, as these links may expire for security purposes. If your link has expired, contact your Digital Marketing Manager to request a new one.

Part 2: Connecting Your Facebook Business Page

After connecting Google, the next step is linking your Facebook Business Page.

Option A: Connect During the Onboarding Call

Your specialist can walk you through connecting Facebook in real-time:

  1. Navigate to the Facebook connection section in the dashboard
  2. Click "Connect to Facebook"
  3. Log into your Facebook account when prompted
  4. Select the Business Page you want to connect
  5. Grant the necessary permissions
  6. Confirm the connection

If you prefer to connect Facebook on your own time, your specialist can generate a secure connection link and email it to you.

      
  1. Check your email for the connection link from Apex Media Solutions
  2. Click the link (it will open in a new browser window)
  3. Click on the 'Optimize' button next to 'Connect your Facebook'.
  4. Link Facebook Account

    • If your name does not appear, look for the option that says 'Don't see an account you want to associate with your listing?'
      and Click on 'Link another Facebook account'.

     5: Log into Facebook

    • Enter your Facebook login credentials to connect your account.          

   

             6. Complete the Connection
    • After confirming, you will see a message indicating that you are previously logged in.

    • The system will then connect your Facebook account.

            7. Verify Connection
    • Switch back to the previous tab (Optimization Page) to ensure your Facebook page is connected.

             8. Complete Setup

            Proceed to complete the setup process by adding any required information.

             9. Submit Your Setup

            After adding your photos and any other necessary details, click on 'Submit' to finalize the connection.

What Happens After Connection?

Once your accounts are connected:

  1. Immediate: Our team begins auditing your current directory listings
  2. Days 1-7: We correct any inconsistencies found across the web
  3. Days 7-30: Your information propagates to 70+ premium directories
  4. Day 30: Your first Client Portal & Citation Proof of Performance appointment is scheduled
  5. Ongoing: Monthly meetings with your Digital Marketing Manager to review progress

Remember: SEO is a marathon, not a sprint. You may not see dramatic changes immediately, but consistent optimization over 60-90 days will yield measurable results.

Accessing Your SEO Dashboard

After onboarding, you can access your dashboard anytime to view:

  • Your listing report showing all connected directories
  • Your visibility score and optimization progress
  • Analytics on how customers are finding you
  • Any action items that need your attention

Your onboarding specialist will provide your login credentials and walk you through the dashboard during your appointment.


Troubleshooting Common Issues

I cannot remember which Google account manages my business. Try signing into Google Maps, searching for your business, and clicking "Manage this listing." The account you use to access the management panel is the correct one.

Facebook says I do not have a Business Page. You may have a personal profile but not a Business Page. Your specialist can help you create a Facebook Business Page during your appointment.

The connection link expired before I could use it. Contact your Digital Marketing Manager and request a new link. They can generate one immediately.

I connected the wrong Facebook Page. Let your Digital Marketing Manager know right away. They can disconnect the incorrect page and help you reconnect the correct one.

My business information appears incorrect after connection. Contact your Digital Marketing Manager so they can update the information in our system and re-sync across all platforms.
