Voice Onboarding Tutorial - Connecting Your Google Account to Voice Dashboard

What is the Voice Dashboard?

Your Voice Dashboard is a centralized platform where you can monitor your business's presence across major voice search platforms, including:

  • Amazon Alexa
  • Google Assistant
  • Apple Siri
  • Samsung Bixby
  • Microsoft Cortana

When customers use voice commands like "Hey Alexa, find a plumber near me" or "Hey Google, what florists are open right now?", having your business optimized for voice search helps ensure you appear in those results.


Before You Begin

To complete this setup, you will need:

  • Access to the email address associated with your Google Business Profile
  • Your Google Business Profile login credentials
  • Approximately 10-15 minutes

If you do not have a Google Business Profile yet, your Apex Media Solutions onboarding specialist will help you create one during your onboarding appointment.


Step 1: Check Your Email for the Dashboard Invitation

After your onboarding appointment, you will receive an email invitation to access your Voice Dashboard. The email will come from our dashboard, and will contain a link to set up your account.

What to do:

  1. Open the invitation email
  2. Click the link to create your account
  3. Set a secure password
  4. Bookmark the dashboard page for easy future access

Tip: If you cannot find the invitation email, check your spam or junk folder. If you still cannot locate it, contact your Account Manager and they can resend the invitation.


Step 2: Log Into Your Voice Dashboard

Once your account is created, you can access your dashboard anytime at:

Use the email and password you created during setup to log in.


Step 3: Connecting Your Google Business Profile

During your onboarding call, your specialist will walk you through connecting your Google Business Profile to the Voice Dashboard. This connection allows us to:
  • Sync your business information across all voice platforms
  • Ensure your Name, Address, and Phone Number (NAP) are consistent everywhere
  • Monitor and improve your visibility on voice search results

To connect your Google account:


  1. Click the Listings Option in your Voice Dashboard Menu and make sure "Premium Listings" is selected in the dropdown.
  2. Click "Connect Account" to the right, next to the Google Maps Publisher.
  3. Sign in with the Google account that manages your business listing
  4. Grant the necessary permissions

Note: We only request the minimum permissions needed to sync your business data. Your login credentials are never stored or shared.


Step 4: Verify Your Business Information

After connecting, review the following information to ensure accuracy:
  • Business Name – Should match your official business name exactly
  • Address – Must be your verified physical location
  • Phone Number – The primary number where customers can reach you
  • Business Hours – Your current operating hours
  • Business Category – The primary category that describes your services

If anything needs to be corrected, let your onboarding specialist know during the call, or contact your Account Manager afterward.


What Happens Next?
Once your Google Business Profile is connected:
  1. Our team begins syncing your information to voice platforms
  2. Over the next 30-60 days, your business data will propagate across directories
  3. Your Digital Marketing Manager will monitor your progress follow up with you if we see any opportunities to increase visibility.

Troubleshooting Common Issues

I did not receive the dashboard invitation email. Contact your account manager and request they resend the invitation. Make sure to check your spam folder first.
I forgot my dashboard password. Click "Forgot Password" on the login page and follow the instructions to reset it.

I cannot connect my Google account. Ensure you are using the correct Google account (the one that has ownership or management access to your Google Business Profile). If you are unsure which account to use, your onboarding specialist can help identify the correct one.

My business information appears incorrect. Contact your Account Manager immediately so they can update your records and re-sync the information.
